This is our review article of early work on DMFT. It discusses the basic theory, algorithms, and the Mott transition of the Hubbard model, among others.

Computer programs that I wrote for this review can be found on this page. These programs provide implementations for the Hirsch-Fye algorithm, the exact diagonalization algorithm (with M. Caffarel), and the iterated perturbation theory.
