Cargèse is a wonderful location on the West coast of Corsica, where the
mountains meet the Mediterranean sea. For a virtual visit, see:
Touristic website of Cargèse
Website of the Institute: Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargèse
The arrival day is Monday July 14th and the departure day is Saturday 26th.
Lectures, talks and poster sessions will be held on every weekday 9:00-12:30 and 16:00-19:00. The early afternoon is free for discussions or for the beach. The week-end will be free as well.
The closest airport is at Ajaccio. A bus service will be arranged for the transfer between the airport and the Conference center; departure from Ajaccio: afternoon/evening of July 14th and return to Ajaccio 26th midday.
The easiest way to get to Ajaccio is by plane from Paris (Orly airport), Marseille or Nice. International flights generally arrive in Paris at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. There are no direct flights from Roissy to Ajaccio, so you will have to connect to Ajaccio via Nice or Marseille or transfer from Roissy Charles de Gaulle to Orly (approximately 1:30 hour).
The Institute is a short (2 km, 20 minutes) walk from the village of Cargèse. Most participants can be housed in the village in apartments with shared bathrooms and kitchen, or at the institute in shared rooms. Solid shoes and a light are recommended for going back and forth from the village to the Institute.
Lunches will be provided at the Institute Monday-Friday. Dinners will be on your own in the village. There are many affordable restaurants. Alternatively, there is a small grocery store (minimarket) in the village with convenient open hours. Those staying in the village can cook. Breakfast is provided for those housed at the Institute.
Internet access points are available, along with a few computers
